Happy New Year! Be Sure to ‘Live With the End in Mind’ in 2013
Hard to believe another year is almost in the history books! Not sure if this is true for you, but for me it seems that once August comes around the rest of the year just goes so quickly. This year was no exception! My wife and I and our little one took a much-needed vacation at the end of August, then the rest of the year just flew by. Continue reading
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! My hope is that today is not just a day about eating, shopping, or watching football, but a day to truly remember and be thankful for the blessings you have in your life. Continue reading
Video: Space Shuttle Endeavour Weaves Through City Streets to Final Home
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about the space shuttle Endeavour flyby of our office, but this week the shuttle was moved through the city and reached it’s final home at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Continue reading
Space Shuttle Endeavour’s Grand Flyby of the Lenox Financial Office
I wish it would have flown a little closer, but it was still a spectacular sight seeing space shuttle Endeavour in the skies over central Orange County today. Endeavour happened to swing by our office here on the final leg of a grand tour that took it all over California and ended at LAX. The retired shuttle is to be moved from LAX and put on permanent display at the California Science Center sometime next month. Continue reading
Could Supersonic Air Travel for the Masses Be in the Near Future?
I may be a mortgage guy, but I’ve always found it fun to read about new innovative technology. My wife and I both love to travel, but it’s the “getting there” of travel that can be kind of a pain. If there was a way to cut down flight time and keep the air fare reasonable, we’d be all over it! Continue reading

Happy 4th of July! Remembering the Words That Began America
I think it’s always valuable to remember what transpired on this day in 1776, what was declared, why it was declared – and be thankful for what we have. While many people continue to suffer under tyrannical governments around the world, here in America we’ve enjoyed for over two centuries the freedom to pursue our dreams free from a despotic government. We are by no means a perfect nation, but I think we’ve gotten our system of government as close to perfection as has ever been achieved in human history. Continue reading
Yet Another Great Reason to Visit the East Coast: Sierra Nevada Expands to North Carolina
Those of you living in North Carolina are a lucky crowd – you’re about to have one of my favorite beer makers move into your backyard. Hopefully this means you can enjoy great Sierra Nevada beer for a little less money (since they won’t have to ship across the country anymore). Continue reading

Oops! In-Flight Recorded Message Mistakenly Announces Crash Landing in the Ocean
Wow, I can think of a lot of things that would make a flight unpleasant, but this certainly takes the cake. On a British Airways flight from Miami to London last Friday, an automated message announced over the intercom that the plane was about to crash land in the ocean. Continue reading
Tim Tebow Loses AFC Playoff Game, But Wins at Life
Despite his performance on the field last night against the Patriots, which will certainly be criticized, I never knew how much of a winner Tim Tebow is off the field until I read an article by Rick Reilly over at ESPN.com. Continue reading
